. A Noun is a part of speech that is used to name or identify a person , place, thing or idea.

 

 .Types of Noun ?

Ø  Common Noun

Ø  Proper Noun

Ø  Abstract Noun

Ø  Collective Noun

Ø  Concrete Noun

 

Ø  Common noun – are words that refer to undefined or generic People, Place, or thing.

 

Ø  For Example – House, Cat, Girl, Country

 

Ø  Proper Noun – Help distinguish a Specific person place or thing.   Fido, Sony

 

Ø  Concrete Noun – is something that can be perceived through the five sense.

 

Ø  Example - If you can see, hear, touch, taste, or smell something it uses a Concrete

 

Ø  Abstract Noun – are intangible ideas that can’t be perceived with the five senses, such as social concepts political theories, and character

 

Ø  For Example – love, creativity

 

Ø  Collective Noun – is a noun while referring to a group of people or thing a collective Noun refer to a group that function as on unit as perform the same action at the same time

 

Ø  Example – Crowd, flocks,

 

Ø   Singular Noun – These are word that are used to name a single Person, Place, Animal, Bird or object

 

Ø  Example – There is a little boy in front of our house (Singular Person)

 

Ø  Plural Noun – Plural Noun refer to a number of people, place, animal, or thing. Noun are made Plural by adding s’ es’ or ies,

 

Ø  Example – I need Some Apples  

 

Ø  Countable Noun – are those Noun that can be counted or measured.

 

Ø  Example – Tom Brought ten packets of lays for the trip. (specific number – ten

 

Ø  Uncountable Noun – are those Noun that cannot be counted. This category of Noun includes both Concrete and Abstract Noun.
